TRIANGLE

TRIANGLE

A simple closed figure with three line segments is called a triangle.

                                            OR

A polygon of three line segments is called a triangle.

It has three line segments , three vertices and three angles.

CLASSIFICATION:

Triangles can be classified in two ways.
(i)  According to the sides
(ii) According to the angles

According to the sides, a triangle can be classified as :
1- Scalene Triangle
2- Isosceles Triangle
3- Equilateral Triangle

According to the angles, a triangle can be classified as :
1- Acute Triangle
2- Right Triangle
3- Obtuse Triangle

-: SCALENE TRIANGLE :-

A Triangle in which all the three sides have different measurement is called a Scalene Triangle.
for example :
  ( 13cm, 14cm, 9cm )
  ( 5.6cm, 4.8cm, 7.1cm )

-: ISOSCELES TRIANGLE :-

A Triangle in which any two sides have the same measurement is called an Isosceles Triangle.
for example :
( 9cm, 9cm, 14cm )
( 12cm, 15.5cm, 12cm )

-: EQUILATERAL TRIANGLE :-

A Triangle in which all the three sides have the same measurement is called an Equilateral Triangle.
for example :
( 5cm, 5cm, 5cm )
( 8cm, 8cm, 8cm )

-: ACUTE TRIANGLE :-

A Triangle in which all the three angles are acute angles is called an Acute Angled Triangle or simply Acute Triangle.
                                OR
A Triangle with three acute angles is called an Acute Angled Triangle or simply Acute Triangle.

for example :
( 40°, 75°, 65° )
( 60°, 60°, 60° )

-: RIGHT TRIANGLE :-

A Triangle in which one angle is a right angle and other two angles are acute angles is called a Right Angled Triangle or simply Right Triangle.
OR
A Triangle with one right angle and two acute angles is called a Right Angled Triangle or simply Right Triangle.
for example :
( 90°, 45°, 45° )
( 30°, 60° , 90°  )
RIGHT TRIANGLE

-: OBTUSE TRIANGLE :-

A Triangle in which one angle is an obtuse angle and other two angles are acute angles is called an Obtuse Angled Triangle or simply Obtuse Triangle.
OR
A Triangle with one obtuse angle and two acute angles is called an Obtuse Angled Triangle or simply Obtuse Triangle.
for example :
( 105°, 34°, 41° )
( 120°, 20°, 40° )
